My People Philosophy
I sometimes joke that if I'm doing my "people manager" role well, then I'm working myself out of a job. I'm known to put emphasis on getting the next round of leaders ready.
My father had a wall full of awards as a highly successful operations leader. My mother spent years as a teacher, nominated more than once for State Teacher of the Year. I think those influences have guided me to ensure that my folks aren't just getting the job done, but are well prepared to move forward in their careers.
My UX Philosophy
It’s not just whether the user is able to complete the task. We need to ask, “What’s the motivation for them to be there in the first place?” That’s when you’re ready to move from reactive usable design to proactive, predictive experiences.
